Our History
Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center of North Central Massachusetts, Inc. first opened in 1976 as the Family Life Center. The Family Life Center began as a pro-life outreach to women with unplanned pregnancies. In September of 2002, the Family Life Center became an affiliate of Care Net and changed its name to reflect that affiliation. In February of 2006, we became licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a medical clinic which allows us to offer limited ultrasounds to our clients. We also celebrated thirty years of serving the community in 2006. Rose Giammalvo, an original signer of the articles of organization, received our first annual Pro-Life Award at our banquet in 2006. She still volunteers as a staff nurse today. Our staff and board represent an assortment of Christian brothers and sisters worshiping in different churches in our area. Most of the funds to operate the center come from individual donations and churches.
