How the bidding works

Let’s say an item is listed for $7.99 and has a Buy Now price of $15.99.  You could bid the $7.99 or higher, but the bidding engine would increment the price to match the lowest bid amount needed for you to win the item. Continuing with this example, lets say you bid $9.00. If this is the initial bid, then it would show up as $7.99. If someone else bids $8.50, your $9.00 bid would kick in and automatically out bid the second person, but using only enough of your $9.00 so you are still the high bidder. This way, you can place a bid at the maximum you want to spend and the bidding engine would automatically keep bidding for you. Of course you will be notified via email if you are out bid and you could place a new, higher bid.

So, place your bid and if you really want it, then place it at the maximum you’re willing to spend and the bidding engine will do the rest.
