On January 28, 2012, at 515 Main Street in Fitchburg we worked inside a Care Net Center.

Ron Turcotte from St. John’s in Townsend did all the floor tiles in the Director’s office. Dave Haschig from Messiah Lutheran in Fitchburg tiled the floor in the Reception office and Pete Cannavino from Leominster Assembly of God was our loyal instructor, explaining the process. (Picture of Pete below.)

Our Medical Director, Dr. John Worden IV and his son John stopped by for an hour and did some clean-up. The Worden’s worship at Sacred Heart in Gardner. Wayne Kraemer, our HVAC guy, delivered materials and got to work. He worships at Heritage Bible Chapel in Princeton. Mike Brennan from Messiah Lutheran stopped by for a tour. My son Bernie Fortin and my granddaughter Paige helped with the cleaning and Bernie pulled off the wallpaper from the waiting room. Paige stayed with us til 5pm and did quite a bit of vacuuming and picture taking. Bernie and Paige worship at St. Bernards. John Bulgor and David Brauksiede did the heavy lifting for the day as they moved doors into the basement storage area. The doors weighed well over 100 lbs each. They really worked up a sweat. Dave and John attend First Baptist in Leominster and worship along side our board president Dave Bodanza, (Pastor Dave). (Picture of Gail and David below.)

We will have another work day this Saturday, February 4th. Join us for an hour or more. Plan on taking Pete Cannavino’s tiling class, he said it’s easy once you know what to do.

I stopped by the center today, and Caleb Marchant was busy putting up ceiling tile, while Mike Merrill was painting door frames and our plumbers were at work with sprinkler heads.

We are grateful and praise God for all the man hours provided by our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Respectfully,
Gail Gardner
Center Director

We intend to celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday on January 22, 2012, in the Montachusett region, joined by thousands across America in homes and places of worship.

It would be such a blessing if every Christian church in the Montachusett region which supports life would have a second offering or retiring offering during their Sunday, January 22, 2012, service to benefit Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center of North Central Massachusetts. Pastors and church leaders, your support is vital in the battle for life. Click here for a bulletin insert.

Thank you so very, very much!

May God bless you this new year,

Jack Maxim placed the winning bid for our official autographed Patriots football and I had the pleasure of delivering it to his family on Christmas Day. We thank the Patriots for their generous donation as we held our first “on line” auction to benefit our “Labor of Love” campaign. We thank Jack Maxim for his participation in our continued effort to be all our Lord wants us to be in our ministry. We are adding the finishing touches to our new location at 515 Main Street in Fitchburg. Keep in mind that the wisest investment in any economy is to invest your time and treasure in the service of God. Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation among whom you shine as lights in the world.” Philippians 2:14-16

Without complaining we gathered on the 26th of November, two days after Thanksgiving to put our center in order. Our project overseer, Pete Cannavino, who attends church at Leominster Assembly of God, put our Board President, Dave Bodanza and his sons Michael and Matthew to task sorting tiles and storing them for future use. The Bodanza’s worship at First Baptist in Leominster. Paul Thibodeau joined us for his first work day at CareNet. He also attends Leominster Assembly and is part of a home group that has adopted CareNet as their outreach mission. Thank you Jesus. Dan Beauregard, our devoted techy, joined us making dumpster runs disposing of accumulated debris and making our newly formed rooms ready to paint. Dan and his family attend the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Acton. Dan is currently working on our first on-line auction. He also will be, with God’s help, doing the data lines and phone system at our center. Our next arrival was Dave Litalien, our electrician, Dave and his crew have put in many hours setting up all of the electrical outlets we need. He brought with him a couple of batches of homemade chunky chocolate chip cookies his wife Maria made. The Litaliens worship at Leominster Assembly of God. Doug Marchant and his crew like Dave put in a lot of hours sub-dividing our space, putting up the necessary walls according to our approved DPH plans. The Marchant family worship at Bread of Life in Westminster. Rhonda Richard came aboard with her son Mathias and Tom Sheldon. The Bodanza’s and others had set a couple of temporary storage rooms in order and Rhonda and her crew moved in to clean. Rhonda’s husband Tom will head up our painting project. They worship at Leominster Assembly. Pam Sager, our client advocate and faithful servant joined us. Pam recently attended a workshop on families hosted by another community agency. Pam attends First Baptist in Leominster with her family. Thank you Lord for bringing us so many talented servants. As our morning came to a close Pete stopped me and showed me a picture on his cell phone of his newest granddaughter Abigail, born in November. As I looked at this little baby, created in her mother’s womb I was reminded why we all do the work God puts before us. We possess the “Light of the World” and we will not hide it under a basket.

Respectfully submitted by Gail Gardner, Director of CareNet with gratitude to our Lord whom I worship at Grace Anglican Church. To Him be the glory.

Healing the Heartbreak of Abortion

Millions of women silently carry the pain and heartache of a previous abortion. They are trying desperately to hide their secret deep in their hearts, and many are suffering severe consequences. We can no longer ignore this vast ministry. with compassion, we must show these women how to replace the enemy’s lies with God’s truth, leading them to healing and freedom. website: www.surrenderingthesecret.com

Pat Layton is Founder and President of Life Impact Network, Inc., in Tampa, Florida. Life Impact Network began in 1986 as a post-abortion healing ministry called “Sisters of Rachel.” It was expanded in 1989 to include a crisis pregnancy resource center offering assistance to women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy as well as those who have experienced a past abortion. The ministry expanded again in 1999 by offering a full-service abstinence education program that reaches out to young people in the community with facts, fun, and fellowship.

Messiah Lutheran, Fitchburg

Our Staff Nurse, Paula Butler and I were privileged to represent our center at the October monthly meeting of the Lutheran Women in Mission League (LWML) at Messiah Lutheran in Fitchburg. These women are a caring group that is helping with our needs. The baby items you see will be a welcome addition to our Baby Boutique. Many of the items were given by the children attending their preschool and learning center. These ladies are dear to my heart as they teach God’s ways to others.

This is their pledge: “In fervent gratitude for the Savior’s dying love and his blood bought gift of redemption, we dedicate ourselves to Him with all that we are and have; and in obedience to His call for workers in the harvest fields, we pledge Him our willing service, wherever and whenever He hath need of us. We consecrate to our Savior our hands to work for Him, our feet to go on His errands, our voice to proclaim His redeeming love, our silver and gold to extend His Kingdom; our will to do His will, and every power of our life to the great task of bringing the lost, and the erring into eternal fellowship with him.” Amen

Thank you Messiah for helping us in our mission to the loss and the erring. Messiah Lutheran has sponsored a table at our 9th annual banquet, “With God, all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

On the eve of the “40 days for Life” campaign I was privileged to meet with the Respect for Life committee at St. John’s in Townsend. Sheavoynne Wilson, from our board, joined us and brought her two children. St. John’s is a giving church. For the last three years we have received over 5,000 diapers from them, a much needed item in our ministry. They listened intently as I told them what we do at the center and how we do it. We talked about abstinence, abortion, and adoption. I shared with them the many tools we use as we speak the truth in love to those Our Lord sends our way. One of our tools is prayer. Our Banquet theme this year is “With God, all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) and we embrace this truth. Please join us and pray that our brothers and sisters in Christ will come on October 20th. Pray that hearts will be transformed through our ministry. Only God can transform the human heart and enable real change for the better. This coming Saturday, our Staff Nurse, Paula Butler and I will travel to Messiah Lutheran in Fitchburg and Paula will talk about our Child Birth Education program. Paula has just received her certification in CBE. Jessica DeFilippo, one of our volunteer R.N.s is also certified in this field. We look forward to our time with the ladies from their auxiliary.

Respectfully,
Gail Gardner
Executive Director
