Care Net EXPRESS
An e-mail newsletter
from Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center of
North Central Massachusetts, Inc.
Dear Friend,
I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well as we begin to turn the corner and head toward Spring. It certainly has been a long, hard winter! We eagerly await the appearing of crocuses and tulips poking through the ground. We at Care Net are simply humbled by and grateful for your continuing support.

Last month was a busy one. The Center had a total number of 65 client visits, 21 pregnancy tests, 6 ultrasounds and the privilege to present the Gospel on 7 occasions. Not only that, we welcomed two new board members and trained two new volunteers. We also spent time applying for a grant and making connections in the community.

I want to sincerely thank each church in the region and its faithful members who took up the challenge on National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Although it snowed heavily on that Sunday, many churches were undaunted. Others postponed the event to the following Sunday. We presented a short video in some churches concerning the ministry and others desired that a representative come and speak.

As the economy crumbles around us and Washington spends billions of borrowed dollars for a "stimulus," we Christians have already been stimulated to the lifelong service of our Lord. We may only have a few smooth stones to work with, but the love and compassion of our sovereign God spurs us onward in the ministry to women in the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy. Standing firm in the faith together with the people of God, we will by God's grace overcome the challenges of a sinful culture in order to save babies and save souls.

Thank you so very much for your precious partnership with us. We do not take it for granted. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you.

You are special and you are loved!
David P. Bodanza, Esq.
President

Baby in the wombWe recently launched an additional website, the focus of which is donors and volunteers. Although it is still under construction, you can check it out at www.friendsofcarenetfitchburg.org. The site provides our donors with the ability to make secure online donations, something that many have been asking about. You can also view the documentary video that we presented at the Annual Banquet. Many have told us that they were very touched by that presentation. I hope you will find this to be the case also. Thank you Dan Beauregard and Mike Gallaugher for all your efforts in making this additional web site a reality.
Save Some Change, Make Some Change...
baby bottlesIt's that time again...Baby bottles are making their way around the Montachusett region. This campaign is simple and rewarding. Please call the Center and ask for a delivery of baby bottles for your church. We will be happy to deliver and you can distribute them among your members. Use the baby bottle as the repository for your loose change until it is filled or until it is Mother's Day. Call us and we will pick up what you have saved in your bottles. "Save some change, make some change."

Stand Firm In the Faith
Though the economic crisis has captured the nation's attention, we at Care Net remain sealconcerned that President Obama may attempt to re-introduce the Freedom of Choice Act. This bill essentially would deny the government any "interference" with a woman's decision to have an abortion, essentially eliminating all restrictions on this tragic practice. The bill has never made it through Congress, but the political composition of Congress has recently changed considerably.

The Freedom of Choice Act would have a devastating effect on woman in the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy, making it more likely that they will make a decision that appears easier but will bring them a lifetime of sorrow and pain. With little or no restrictions of law preventing the practice, the love and compassion of local pregnancy resource centers will have even more importance in supporting and informing women. Now more than ever, the courage, conviction and commitment of those who support life must come forward. We must stand firm in the faith!

girlWe extend a hearty thank you to our dear sister Sharon Driscoll who recently completed a term of six years on the Board of Directors. Thank you Sharon and we hope you enjoy some extra moments with your precious little granddaughter!
Some Words to Ponder...

"When God converts and saves a sinner, it is a wonderful and unspeakable manifestation of divine love. When a poor lost soul is brought home to Christ, and has all his sins forgiven him, and is made a child of God, it will take up a whole eternity to express and declare the greatness of that love."  Jonathan Edwards

"But can law, human law, change the nature of things? Can it turn darkness into light, or evil into good? By no means. Notwithstanding ten thousand laws, right is right, and wrong is still wrong."  John Wesley

"The simultaneity of heroic efforts to repair birth defects of some unborn children and the abortion of other children with similar defects, sometimes in the same hospital, points to the deep moral and legal schizophrenia surrounding abortion in the United States today."  John J. Davis

"As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy." Elizabeth, John the Baptist's mother, to Mary, recorded in Luke 1:44

"The fundamental fact in Scripture is that human beings are creatures at every stage of their development, both prior to and subsequent to birth, and always dependent on the sustaining mercy of God for their life. 'In Him we live and move and have our being' (Acts 17:28). God is the only totally 'viable' and self-sustaining being in the universe..." John J. Davis
May God bless us all as we stand together for Him in this generation...
