An e-mail newsletter
from Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center of
North Central Massachusetts, Inc.
Dear Friend,
I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well as  Spring is in full swing! In New England, we all know that may mean a few 95 degree days in addition to the more expected pleasant weather. Most remark that they are quite content with anything as long as it is not ice and snow.
March and April were very busy here at Care Net. In March, the Center had a record total number of 90 client visits, 14 pregnancy tests, 2 ultrasounds and the privilege to present the Gospel on 10 occasions. In April, the Center had a total number of 82 client visits, 19 pregnancy tests, 2 ultrasounds and the privilege to present the Gospel on 10 occasions. Not only that, we welcomed another new board member, launched the Baby Bottle drive and planned and attended a seminar entitled: Insights Into Presenting the Gospel to People in Crisis
Think about this for a moment. The crisis pregnancy center movement has flourished because those who participate in it and support it have come to an important realization. Women do not choose an abortion based upon an ideological commitment. Women choose abortions because they perceive that there are no other alternatives for dealing with their personal crisis of an unplanned pregnancy. We aim to provide them with healthy alternatives, true information and compassionate support so that they may make the better choice. The choice of life! Such a choice has lifelong and eternal implications.
We are approaching our 33rd year of ministry. We do not stand alone. Local churches and area believers have been faithful to the call of the sanctity of life in the Montachusett region. With you, we can be "salt" and "light" to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Together, we pray, we give, we work and, most of all, we depend upon God in everything. The cupboards are frequently modest in supply, but God has always come through.

Thank you so very much for your precious partnership with us. We do not take it for granted. May God bless you in every way for your faithfulness.

You are special and you are loved!

Link 2 Life ... We need you
tulipsIf just 20 people from 20 different churches gave $25 per month to Care Net, our financial needs would be fully supplied. We are praying that this simple idea will become a powerful reality. In the weeks to come, we will be looking for just one special person in each local church to be an ambassador, a "Link 2 Life" as we like to call them. This person will serve by helping us challenge 20 people in his or her church to make this commitment. Are you that person?
The torch has passed to us to be faithful in this generation. We dare not fumble the torch by hands made cold by a self-centered, self-obsessed culture. Rather, may we be inspired by the faith-filled believers of yesterday who served God in the midst of great difficulty. For example, consider George Muller of Bristol, England, whose dependence on God and compassionate care for orphans shaped decades of missionary and parachurch work throughout the whole world. Of him and faithful others it has been said by biographer A.T. Pierson: "Every man who walks with God, and finds Him a present Help in every time of need; who puts His promises to the practical proof and verifies them in actual experience; every believer who with the key of faith unlocks God's mysteries, and with the key of prayer unlocks God's treasuries, thus furnishes to the race a demonstration and an illustration of the fact that 'He is, and is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.'"
The window of opportunity is open! If God has ignited your heart to prove Him faithful, please do not hesitate to call Gail at the Center.
"Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love." 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (NLT)
Save Some Change, Make Some Change...
baby bottlesIt's that time again...Baby bottles are making their way around the Montachusett region. This campaign is simple and rewarding. If you have not done so already, please call the Center and ask for a delivery of baby bottles for your church. We will be happy to deliver and you can distribute them among your members. Use the baby bottle as the repository for your loose change until it is filled. Many churches are starting their campaign on Mother's Day and completing it on Father's Day. Call us and we will pick up what you have saved in your bottles. All your giving goes directly to this ministry ! "Save some change, make some change."
Hands to work, hearts to God
The "Girl Talk Group" is a Christian mentoring group for teen girls and young women at baby blanketsthe First Baptist Church of Leominster. Their focus is discipling girls so as to raise up Godly women. At their April monthly meeting, the Girl Talk Group added a work of service to their usual menu of prayer, Bible teaching and fellowship. The girls and parents put together five no-sew fleece baby blankets for the Care Net Baby Boutique. The blankets are warm, cute and perfect to cuddle a newborn in. The girls described the time spent as "fun!" Truly, it is more blessed to give than to receive. Bonnie Nojeim, parent co-leader of the group, observed, "We believe that teaching the girls empathy and compassion for others at an early age is important."
The hard truth is that many rationalize abortion by stating that they simply cannot afford to raise another child. It is for this reason that Care Net also supports a  woman's decision for life by meeting the material needs that a new baby brings. When the local church stands with us in this, they not only bless someone in need but bless their people by having them experience that truly "it is more blessed to give than receive."

Welcome A New Board Member!

We are pleased to recently welcome Daniel Beauregard as a new board member. Dan is no newcomer to Care Net, having so graciously served to meet our technology needs in the past. Thank you Dan for coming forward to serve with us by the giving of your time and talents. May God bless you in your service.
If you have a desire to serve or would like more information about where you could fit into this ministry, please do not hesitate to let us know. Again, there is no pay here but the benefits are out of this world!
Baby Showers...
babyHi! Are you looking for a simple, practical way to put your belief into action? Here is a simple suggestion: organize a baby shower at your church to benefit the Care Net Baby Boutique. The ladies of your church can host a baby shower and bring items needed by the Care Net Baby Boutique. The Boutique blesses expectant mothers who are in need.
Just let us know and we will have some of our staff come and speak at your event to inform you firsthand of what is happening at Care Net and what a blessing your gift will be!
Some Words to Ponder...
"Nothing affirms the special dignity and inestimable worth of each human being as strongly as the biblical teaching on creation and redemption."  Ronald J. Sider
"It is an old story: Language must be mutilated when a perfumed rationalization of an act is incompatible with a straightforward description of the act....The broader message of the case is that being an unwanted baby is a capital offense."  George Will
"If there is any serious possibility that we are dealing with human beings, we must reject abortion. To do otherwise would be like shooting blindly into a darkened theater with the justification that we cannot know whether we will hit empty seats or murder innocent people."  Ronald J. Sider
"The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 'When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.' The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, 'Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?'  The midwives answered Pharaoh, 'Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.'  So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own." Exodus 1:15-21
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute." Proverbs 31:8
May God bless us all as we stand together for Him in this generation...
